Lauren Quan-Madrid dreams of a world where fitness, health and wellness are accessible in every neighborhood of Los Angeles and beyond.
As a self-proclaimed overthinker, Lauren brings together her background in urban planning and affordable housing with a deep commitment to wellness and community development. She co-founded People’s Yoga, the first and only yoga studio in East Los Angeles, to create a space where people can reconnect to their bodies, build self-trust, and access practices often missing from their communities.
She was born and raised in Los Angeles and at the intersection of cultures, languages and urban/suburban landscapes - shaping her approach to leadership, community and access. Her work blends structure, strategy and a whole lot of ganas (big enthusiasm).
With over 12 years of experience as a business owner and leader, Lauren has taught and facilitated 1000+ classes at the studio and with multiple organizations such as Nike, LA Care, East LA College, Pasadena City College, Accelerated Charter Elementary School and the Gloria Molina Grand Park. She holds degrees from UC Berkeley and University of Southern California, where she also teaches a public policy capstone course.
As an educator, instructor and coach, Lauren helps ovethinkers get out of their head and into their body and heart so they can build self-trust, take action, and live with intention.
