Start Here

If you’re here, you have a vision of health and wellness to share with your community. You may be in your early stages or have been thinking about this for years. Either way, something is telling you it’s time to focus and take action because you know deep down one day you will regret it if you don’t

What I Write About Here

I write about building People’s Yoga from a specific lens - as someone who is fueled to bring my version of health and wellness - and with a specific set of skills that you may be interested in learning more about.

As a co-founder of People’s Yoga, my strengths live in the Type A world - I love a good spreadsheet, point people, deadlines and feedback sessions. I strive to get uncomfortable though and break out of my comfort zone and grow in areas that fascinate me yet are difficult. Here you will find my writings about:

  • Leadership and decision making

  • Teamwork and building teams

  • Systems and organization

  • Developing Actionable Plans and Accountability

  • Staying Aligned with your Values

Some pieces are practical and tactical, others are reflective. All of them are shaped by my lived experience - where application and theory come together.

How to Read This Site

You don’t need to read everything in order.

You can:

  • Browse by topic depending on what you’re navigating right now

  • Read one piece and come back later

  • Return to certain posts as reference points as your work evolves

If you’re new, I recommend starting with a few foundational posts that speak to leadership, systems, and taking action— then following your curiosity from there.

How This Connects to My Broader Work

These writings are aligned with my values and what I stand for in my professional and personal life. I co-founded People’s Yoga with a personal mission to bring opportunities for mindfulness, movement and yoga to East LA communities with less access to these modalities. Since 2012, my mission has evolved to include training and developing the future generations of wellness leaders and entrepreneurs so that each can bring their vision of collective well-being to their unique communities. We need more leaders who are ready to take action and impact their communities!

At my core, everything I do is to help new wellness leaders:

  • Clarify your vision

  • Develop leadership skills

  • Take actionable steps

  • Stay connected to your core values

With my experience in social enterprise (aka social mission oriented businesses), leadership, real estate, team work and accountability, my goal is that my writings and learnings will help you have a head start to achieve your dreams, take actionable steps toward your goals all while making less mistakes than I did along the way.

An Invitation

If you’re early in your thought process or have been thinking about this for years, I hope this space provides clarity, excitement and direction for you to move toward your big, audacious goals. Our communities around the country and the world, need us, the everyday person with big dreams to step up  and become a leader to spread our visions of health and wellness to make this world a better place.

You are right on time and you are where you need to be. You don’t need to rush or figure it all out at once. Just know that there is a community of people who have a passion for this work and we will build the world we want to see, together. I’m glad you’re here.
